Conference Rooms A & B
Camarillo, CA 93010
The County of Ventura and PRSA California Gold Coast Chapter are pleased to present a panel presentation including several of our local Public Information Officers and their communication efforts with local residents during the Thomas Fire. The Thomas Fire affected so many different agencies, departments and organizations, that it touched almost everyone.
Even though we will certainly touch on the huge media response and the work of the field PIOs, we will also hear about the PIO work that was not happening on-camera. Some of the topics to be discussed will include news releases, translations, evacuation alerts, social media, community meetings, websites, recovery, etc. The expectation is for a wide-ranging discussion from all in attendance.
